Mages are not that hard actually, go melee 1-15 (still add everything to intelligence), then cast 15-71 get 70ish ee charms every 5 levels (usually 19.99 fg each) until mq, then get a nice mq charm (can get 100ish ee lvl 55 for around 2-300 fg). mages are really cheap and the best for welling even with mediocre gear. I was doing wells at 71 with a 27 intel robe, and 21 intel weapon with a 80ish ee focused heal level 55 and a level 55 100ish ee fire charm. I was around 80% success as well, which beats the hell out of my 50ish % melee character of the same level
