every group will always need a tank, because most people have stat gear, however in saying that, you wont be able to use your ee gear once you hit monk, which if you do slash a few times, then you can literally get to monk really quick. To be honest, i would probably look to the EE gear, and worry about monk when it comes, as you will need dex robes for monk, almost no matter what, as both staffs and daggers are dex based

swords will get u to monk, so that is a good pickup

If you have the budget, i actually get dex gear, including robes, and go daggers and axes. Swords will get you to monk with any setup above though

This 100%. Every class except casters are dex based. All classes except pala,fighter and hh ( and alchy) can use daggers. Axes for pala and hh. Axes are 50/50 so dex with them is fine. If/wen you can afford it you will actually want 2 sets of scales/leathers and robes. 1 for ee and 1 for stat. An ee scale/leather set and stat scale/leather set. Same for robe. EE is for when tanking/soloing and stat is when you can stand in back. Swords are nice, but can only be played by so many classes and require str based gear. Lmk what you are going to go with and I might have something I can give you for some starter gear. GL
