When you transfer things to people via vault you aren't giving it to them, you are lending.
Stealing something that is lent to you is stealing.
If you go and get a loan from a bank and decide not to pay it back, what happens?
What if you get a loan of money from a friend and decide not to pay that back, contract or not, what happens?
