Rogue is a fun class, although not my own personal favorite but fun just the same.
You can build one cheaply because they can use many weapons, including Club and Staff which are both on the cheaper end. They can also wear a bunch of armor types.
You need to think about what you want to do, as Rogue can fit many roles. They make excellent Damagers, can Cast/Heal better than the rest of the melee feeders, and can even Tank if needed (stat some Vita for this)
I will give it some more thought and try to add more to this, kinda busy at the moment though so maybe someone else can also help me out. I know a few guildies have built Rogues so we will see what they say.
Adding onto this, a few generic builds based on your role:
Damager Rogue:
Add 5-10 Vita, rest to the dominant damage stat based on weapon type
EE Weapons
Stat Armors (Str or Dex depending on weapon type)
Stat Charms (same as above)
Melee/Tank Rogue
Add 10+ Vita (50-60 Vita won't hurt if you are tanking, some prefer 70-80) rest to the dominant damage stat based on weapon type
EE Weapons
EE Armors (Scale/Leather preferred but Robes will also work to a certain extent)
Stat Charms (Str or Dex depending on weapon type, +Life also very useful for this build)
Caster/Healer Rogue
Add 5-10 Vita, rest to Intelligence
Int and/or Heal Mastery Weapons
Int and/or Heal Mastery Armors
Damage Charm with EE in Main slot for casting
Heal Charm with EE in ACC slot for healing
Melee/Healer Rogue
Add 5-10+ Vita, Add 20-30+ to Intelligence, rest to the dominant stat based on weapon
EE weapon
Either Stat armor to boost weapon damage or Int/HM armor to boost heals
Stat charm in main slot to boost weapon damage OR Heal-boosting charm in main slot to boost heals (+Int/HM/Mana) OR find a sexy one with dual mods (DEX and HM for example would boost both Staff/Dagger dmg and Heals)
Heal charm with EE in ACC slot for healing
These are just a few simple ideas, there are many other ways to play, but this will give you a good idea as to how flexible a Rogue really is.
Also, my +Stat distribution is not set in stone, only a rough guideline as to how I would play them.
