I can take gangtsah rap on my playlist when it's pre-game tunes (besides, I live din the hood when I was really small) but polka is just beyond me. I can't believe polka ever caught on anywhere. Then again my parents would go to square dances when I was a kid ... which sometimes played polka music. Even then I thought it was nuts. Outside there'd be punk music and Michael Jackson on the beatboxes on shoulders of teenagers looking for fights, and my parents would be shuffling off to their sh*tty dances. At home they'd play all the 80s stuff and lots of other music, too. Music was always in the background and I gained a deep appreciation for it. My dad had a really good record collection. Even today I think it's awesome. I miss 80s music and even some of the 90s stuff. It's all gone to crap now, except for pockets of independent stuff and the random artist who has the balls to be authentic and the luck not to have gotten laughed out of the business.
