Hello Everyone,

Here is a article quoting the U.S. agency NOAA talking about what caused high tides on the East Coast of the Atlantic. If you look at the date, you will notice its in July of 2009. I remember these tides when I was in NYC. It was really surreal, seeing the ocean so high in Manhattan on what would be very calm days. Sometimes, the tides would be just below the threshold where flooding would occur.

An even bigger mystery is why such winds would suddenly appear and why the current running up the Atlantic coast would weaken. Was it a freak coincidence, some jitter in the data, or part of a long-term trend or cycle?

Now, you hardly hear a mention of this. I'm taking bets that the U.K. will break its all time record for cold this winter. As of now, Scotland has the title of -27c. It came close back in November and dipped to -26c. But as I type this, another huge arctic air mass is heading towards northern Europe. I'm betting the new record will hit -35c in January, maybe even colder. Let's see what happens. :)

The STI is FINALLY put in storage now that I got my winter beater running. My new winter beater as it now sits:

I repainted the rims to just red. The gold and green paint was smearing too much even with clear coat on it :(

Sarah, has family over for a few weeks, therefore she'll be on and off a tad ;)

Oh and I just realized I have 469 Gp, my second favorite number, right after 1469. That one will take some time....

Tis another Subaru :) My downfall is that I have bought 5 of them for beaters after the STI lol. I plan to turn them into rally cars and winter beaters. the best part. All 5 run, no immediate problems for driving (its just old years and a little rust), and all together cost me less then 3000 :). I am keeping preoccupied making them purr.

Cool cool, Subaru is a very very good car. My sis was going to buy one, but kinda pricy it was for a brand new 2011
I've had a few beaters also, payed less than 1000 $ for each. None had any problems, my last one was sooo old but very comfy, like a damn Cady
My 1st, I had opened the fuel gadge, ate alot of gas, but I was killing ppl in races. They had no idea wtf was wrong

Absolutely man. If you have the know how and the tools to do it, it's a ball of fun to play with beaters.

Speaking of beaters,

I used to have a large tuna boat called Mercury Marquis, it had a 429 wild cat big block V8 and would burn the tires off the car.

I had many a hot rodder say WTF as the Queen Mary floated by

Good day everyone. :)

p.s. My new car is a Subaru Legacy, 2010. Had it almost a year and it only has 4,900 miles on it (it's parked inside most the time). It's basically brand new with a few cat paw prints on the dust. Only had two minor recalls from the dealer for some transmission cooling pipes. But I must say, Subaru makes dam nice cars. They hold their price too if you take care of them.

Roby, your beater doesn't look that bad, in fact, compared to the beater I had, its luxurious.
