Pentagon 2004 projected climate model. Now we know why Bush pulled out of the Kyoto protocol.

So what's in the report that created the controversy? The worst-case scenario is that global warming is approaching a threshold beyond which a sudden cooling will set in. That kind of climate event is believed to have happened 8,200 years ago and lasted for 100 years.
The authors suggest a number of dire consequences in a scenario in which the current period of global warming ends in 2010, followed by a period of abrupt cooling.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJEOxJyy3_ISolar magnetic field has been decreasing. Once it falls below the threshold of 1500 gauss, no more Sun spots. Which means less active Solar cycles. (this was some of the data that the Pentagon report went by - but with earlier, less accurate measurements)
http://arxiv.org/abs/1009.0784v1If the Pentagon report is correct, there will be a 2-4c drop in global mean temp. North America and Northern Europe will drop by as much as 5-6c average mean temp. It's difficult to say just how fast or low the temps will fall, and taking into account the Gulf Stream stoppage along with reduced Solar activity, if I had to make a guess - I give us 6-8 "good" years left. And what I mean by "good", the life styles we are currently accustomed too.
