One Night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you you'd walk with me all the way, but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
I am about to post this epic guide in the LS forum, someone quick think of some more questions (serious or non) that I can add to this:
Apparently many people do not understand this concept. I thought it was one of the basic, fundamental pieces of LS knowledge but based on my cata games over the past few weeks I have been proven wrong once again.
When to stand in the front:
- If you are wearing armor with a decent amount of ee (with one exception, read below to find out)
- If you are wearing an unspawnable amount of max life (mostly just for low levels)
- If you are the only non-robe wearing person in the game
When to stand in the middle:
- If you are wearing ee armor that is significantly worse than someone else's ee armor in your group
- If you are wearing non-robe armor with no ee (and there is someone else with ee armor, if not refer to the last rule in front standing)
When to stand in the back:
- If you are wearing a tier I or tier II unspawnable (with the exception of the second rule in front standing - or if you use low level unspawnable armor at high levels)
- If you are wearing any robe (with the obvious exception of badass people like me who tank robes or other badass people not like me who use unspawn max life robes)
Q & A
Q: What happens in an all robe group?
A: Let the person with either the highest life (at low levels) or the highest tier robe go front
Q: What about in a group where no one has ee armor?
A: Same thing as above, let the person with the highest life or tier armor ride front
Q: What do I do if people have the exact same ee on different types of armor?
A: Typically I'd just let both go front but some people are insane about only having 1 person in the front (which does make sense for healing,
especially if there is only one healer). Just remember, for tanking abilities this is the generally accepted order of armor as judged by their usefulness (currently, this is subject to change as the game changes): Scale > Leather > Chain > Plate > Padded > Robe (this is NOT set in stone and I'm sure many people would love to argue with this, but that is not the point of this thread. Long story short mediums are best because they negate both magical and physical damage, heavies are next best because over 50% of the mobs you encounter will melee against you, and robes are worse than the others because they are about as effective as armor made of butter against melee mobs)
Q: What if there is a group of people using entirely unspawnables with no max life on them?
A: You are obviously too rich, sell your LS gear and buy a car in the donor forum or something
Hopefully this helps some people. Just let me know if I missed anything or messed something up (hopefully within 30 mins so I can edit)
Anyways, cheers and happy slashing
