dun +20 int only add about 20 dmg?
i calculated that if i use 20 int armor and 20 int weapon.. my max dmg goes up only about 30
i rather have faster regen time
Int adds two things:
1. EE. 20 Int is roughly 20 EE additional to what's already on your charm.
2. Amp. The higher your intelligence is above that of your opponent, the greater your damage is "amped" beyond what is merely listed on your charm. So like, currently, the damage listed on my charm for my Samurai caster is 346-416. I am actually doing between around 550-750damage per hit, depending on the monsters. Naturally, those in the 550 range are monsters with higher int, those in the 750range, are in the lower.
Int doesn't give a critical strike bonus of any sort like dex does, nor is charm damage effected by critical strike gained from dex. Instead it gives a simple amplify damage bonus that applies to all shots, IF you have significantly more intelligence than the monster you are fighting.
So, if you cast, intelligence is VERY important.
Oh yeah, and back in LS version 1, when we could duel, I dueled a guild mate (volckom, as it happens). And when I dueled him with my much higher damage lvl45 charm, I lost, as my int wasn't as high, and life was comparable. When I fought him with my lower damage level 35 charm, which adds 32 int or so, his shots did a LOT less damage, and mine did almost exactly the same amount as they had with the higher listed damage charm, and I ended up winning.
So, if you want to go caster without int, by all means do so, but at least be advised what you're getting yourself into.
