I just spent 45min on the phone with Time Warner Tech support. They had a checklist of shit for me to check, even though I told them I troubleshot the damn thing already.

Apparently it doesn't matter that I'm an IT professional, they still need to treat me like I'm technologically retarded.

Edit: at the end of his checklist he's like "I've concluded that you need to do a modem swap." This after I tell him "the Ethernet portion of my modem is no longer functioning."

I'm tech support :mad: I work for Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions. Everyday I have IT "professionals" call in asking me to remote in and setup customers networks. I'm always like wtf, why are they paying you to call us for free support that they already have. Do it your damn selves :mad:

Well the way time warner works is that they tell you to reset the modem and if it doesn't work call them back to speak to a rep.

Little did I know that it would be tech support.

Apparently the only way that they will give me a new modem is by going through their checklist. I couldn't avoid tech support. They just assume that you don't know what you're talking about.
