All melee chars are essentially the same.  Monk has pretty good starting stats though, so you'll be able to go a little better than usual even. 
Robes only though. =/
Just do what you've been doing for stats.  100-130 dext, rest strength, and now you get to sit in the back for catas. :D

hmmm thats curious , other ppl in catas said me 120 dex is only needed for ppl who are using swords.... and others again have put >>0<< into dex playing front,having the same armor defense like me and not losing more life than me -.-'
