First, you have my apologies for being away for so long. Second, I’m doing well & my family is doing well—I understand that people were worried about us. So I’m also sorry if anyone feared the worst. I’ve just been very busy lately. At work, some of you already know that my hours went from a cozy 20-30 hours per week to double that amount. And of course I’ve been spending time with Caden, who is now almost a year old.
I’m now taking time away from work for at least the next several months. This is something I’ve planned for a long time, and the reason for it is pretty simple: I don’t want my baby spending time with babysitters or in day care, at least at this age. My wife’s back at work after a year’s maternity leave, and now I’m spending nearly all of my time with Caden. I miss d2jsp a lot, and of course I’ve wanted to return several times. But the main thing stopping me has been time. I didn’t want to just check in and check out. I’ve been hoping to squeeze out an open hour or two so that I can make a proper return.
I get about three “free hours” every day: Caden’s first nap, Caden’s second nap—each of which is about an hour long—and then the hour after Caden goes to bed. During his first nap I’m usually cleaning up the house, napping, or eating. During the second nap, I try to get anything else done around the house. But I very rarely get more than an hour of this kind of time window, and even if I don’t have much to do, there’s still not much time for d2jsp. The best time for me will probably be the hour after Caden goes to bed: 9 PM EST- 10 PM EST. I’ll aim to get on d2jsp during that time as often as I can, although I’m often pretty wiped out by then. Caden’s still not the best sleeper. I’m usually up at least a couple times each night. That’s not to say that I’m complaining. I’m really enjoying my time with Caden. I’ll have to post updated pics sometime.
… Back to d2jsp stuff …
I’m going to keep the Guild afloat no matter how often I can be around. I’ll do my best to talk with Rick and the other leaders about things like LS payouts, activities, and the forums which were supposed to be up a long time ago. I’ll be hunting down our forum host about it 
When I’m online, anyone can feel free to contact me, but I’ll often be pretty busy either helping people or making key contacts. So replies won’t be automatic all the time. I really hope that everyone has been doing well, and that the Guild has continued to thrive without me being around. Now that I’m back, I have a lot of ground to make up, and you can bet that in my brief times on the sites I’ll be forging ahead with my usual hard working attitude and care for others.
I’m going to be on the site at least a few times each week until I can find more time for it. As Caden grows, he will become more and more independent, but for now he needs me most of the time.
I’d be foolish not to anticipate some direct questions & make some general on-topic remarks- I won’t be making other posts tonight or doing anything else on the site tonight, but I’ll be back within a few days to check PMs, check in on any FG-related matters, and begin the process of really getting back into the swing of things
- I hear the Guild has been doing well, especially due to paparick’s efforts. I will be contacting him earlier than most people (within a few days) in order to pay him any owed FG for LS payouts and to thank him for his good work—and of course to discuss all kinds of stuff
- I’ll be reviewing our LS payout system since LS has seen a major change since my last visit; one problem is that I may not have a steady incoming flow of FG for a while … I may be able to fix that, however
- I hear D3 is out & that D2 has had a version update. I’ve logged into the latest D2 game version but I haven’t done anything else, so I really don’t know about any changes to the game
- I missed the site, the people who help out here, and the Guild: I really appreciate those who have helped keep things going while I’ve been away
- I encourage any PMs but my inbox might be fullish for a while until I can really get it back into shape. I’d love to hear from everyone, although my responses may be late
- I’ve had contact with Schlag & SpyderSic and some other people through AIM. I was hoping to make a full return to d2jsp, rather than to make quit entrances and exits, but I don’t think I’ll have several hours to devote to the site each day for a while. So my appearances will be brief but hopefully very constructive and also helpful
- Please continue to represent the Guild with pride and excellence. I hope my return will help influence some changes so that we can finally get a working Guild site and some regular activities. This will take some time because my priorities on d2jsp will be split between PMs, contacting some people, the Guild, and helping the site in any way I can. Rest assured, I will be looking deeply into what needs to be done and getting things done.
p.s. Keep up the good work slashing! I’ll be debating a trade of any of my remaining equipment on LS. Guild members would obviously get a big discount. I don’t want to trade off my items, but I don’t want them to get dusty & I won’t have much time for LS for a while.
