Typically you either go

Dagger/axe

Or sword/staff

Monk can’t use sword so you need staff (or caster gear) for monk

Paladin can’t use dagger so you need axe

The advantage of dagger/axe is you can use every class up to warlock (and can do headhunter too but you need caster gear for warlock)

With caster/axe/dagger gear you can do every class

The advantage of sword/staff is they are much cheaper for similar ee

The difference is also in your damage numbers. Swords/staves have higher ranges than daggers/axes so you can hit much higher numbers but you can also hit much lower numbers. Daggers and axes the damage range is tighter so you’ll be consistently hitting for medium damage rather than sporadic numbers. Depends if you like seeing consistent numbers or thrive off getting a big hit and don’t mind some little ones in between.

Another disadvantage to sword/staff is one is dex and one is strength so you’ll need two different types of charms/armors

However strength gear is much cheaper than dex gear

The nice thing about dagger/axe is you can buy all dex gear and use it on both

Awesome this helped a lot.
So ya ima build dagger axe. Do you think around 9k Fg would be enough to gear out to be able to run with the guild? Or could i do it for less.
Also what’s the MINIMUM EE I should aim for to be viable in group runs? 80+ for now?
And is it every 10 level I buy a new piece?

I would recommend at the minimum a level 0, 5, 10, 15, 25, 35, 45, 55

What I would do if I had to start from scratch is aim for around 80-100 ee on up to a 45. Then at 45 aim for around 100

Then finish building whatever charms/armor you want and spend the rest on the best 55 you can afford. Game is pretty easy until level 55 and you spend most of your time above level 55. :)

Edit: or you can try to find a full set for sale. Sometimes easier to find a full set than to find individual mq weapons

Not looking to change your plans, but just as additional input:

I run Swords + Caster gear - casting monk. If i ever get Headhunter i am screwed, but so far so good.

I like this due to str gear being cheaper than dex gear, and swords are cheaper than daggers. When casting my monk/warlock can use the same gear.

Only need 2 sets (and casting charms are quite available) :-)

But notice for the first 20 lvls its easier to play as melee while you put everything into intel

Specialy on offcast chars its a pain to cast full from begining, i mostly play the offcasts melee until 30/35
