ventrillo is a program we use so that we can talk to one another via headset (mic/earphones), its makes catas a lot easierwhen u can actually hear someone talk to you rather then type. A lot of us use it, Ventrillo also has a real time chat option for people who do not have headsets, so that we can all talk instead of pming each other or using the /msg command in Ls to talkto friends online
