how would you guys have reacted?
http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=22519938&f=273&st=0i am very sad that the situation developed in this way, but i guess it was my fault.
i put this dagger for trade, it was price checked to 550fg+ with the advice to collect offers for several time.
i was pmed about the price by muggidk, so i offered a d/l at 400fg since i got the feeling he needed this. i set the bin to 550fg at the same time.
i set it to 6 hours because of the time difference in most of the cases, so at this time we would most likely both be online and i could react to the offers.
the deadline was running and i bumped the thread once afterwards 2 hours before the end. i went to sports then and when i came back i saw shsheik
had offered 450fg on it.
it was 10 minutes left till the end of the d/l.
i informed muggidk that he was overbid, but he didnt reply to my pm. i watched the thread for further reactions and saw him 5-6 times in the thread,
but he did not post an offer. for my first interpreation, i thought he was out of the race as no offer came.
the d/l was over, or most likely a few seconds before being over, so i was just going to pm shsheik that i will sell the dagger to him and discuss when to set it up,
i had prepared the market for it as well already.
before i sent this pm, i checked the thread again and saw muggidk had outbid him in the very last moment,
it was exactly within the end of the d/l and 10fg more then shsheik offered.
at this point i must admit, that this development is my fault to a large extent.
in MY interpretation of fair trading, this eeebay style last minute offering to give the other parties no chance to react is unfair and i did not expect this.
i should have made it clear, that i do not allow such offers, especially in that form (really low overbid)
i wrote in the thread, that i will allow this offer as leading, but that i will inform shsheik that he was overbid and give him the chance to react.
the thread would be closed for any other party from there on.
i wrote this pm and he overbid again with 15fg.
as muggidk should have the same right, i pmed him as well that he has the same right to counter this and i will just accept offers of these 2 parties.
but he did not react to this any more, i am waiting about 1 hour now.
i can understand his point, he bid within the d/l, but the way this was done does not fit to my understanding of fair trading.
in the thread i wrote this:
Quote
Reserving the right not to sell this for any reason
so i can use this point as a kind of solid argument for my way of acting, although in my future threads i will not rely on my interpretation of fairness any more,
but will take the time to set up such rules for all eventual cases like exactly this.
i understand when muggidk will call me a greedy idiot that only wants more fg, but if i did i would never have set that d/l below 500fg,
this was an accommodation from my side since i didnt care weather it was 400 or 500fg in the end and i had the feeling he needed this.
i think some people here can confirm that i do not care at all about fg, but for other, deeper values.

the difference in the end was 10 or 15fg, this is an amount i could regain with selling any mutable i find tons of each day.
if i would be harsh, i would simply have sold the dagger to shsheik since i was just in the process of doing this and this was a type of offer i do not accept usually,
but i wanted to solve this situation as good as possible for all parties involved.
to round this up, here is one of the pms, i havent the one of muggidk yet as he didnt respond to it yet unfortunately.

thanks for the heads up,i bid
you are leading now.
since i gave you the chance for an overbid, i will allow muggidk the same right.
the thread is closed for all other interested parties.
if i do not receive an offer within the next minutes the item goes to you for the amount of 475fg.

sounds good.
im MPin right now, so if i dont respond to future messages, i will, just give me a few to check here.
thanks for being a good trader.

im curious for your opinions, i honestly tried to solve this case as fair as possible for all people involved, but i know that this situation could have been
avoided if i had made this "fair trade charta" i took as granted in a solid form in the thread.
edit:
i am waiting more then 1 hour now and still havent sold this to anyone.
muggidk was online again in between but there is no response, i pmed him twice.
i will sell this to shsheik since i am tired and would like to go to sleep now.
