Unfortunately, he seems to be a very distant individual when it comes to d2jsp and even Ladder Slasher. The best gaming companies hear their members and listen to many of their needs and wants, because they are the ones who fuel the game. That's not to say that Paul does not hear or listen, he does often. However, the lack of communication between the two groups rather than just a 1 way conversation (current method I would argue) has made the game and d2jsp very stagnant.

The Solution is pretty simpel and i NN a wall of text for it like Malte !


solution :

Go a few updates back to the time there was a :
* Arena
*Well in Town
* Before muting started to change in profs
* where we had cata and No Maze clicking options.
* where HM and those kinda stats really had a meaning
*where people are not LAZY to work for eachother
*etc etc etc etc

Do that and alot pf players will come back.
as long as Paul wanna create the game "his way" then live with the fact u play alone most of the time now.
and u will end up not playing at all because they dies /is allready dead

Yeah those changes for sure made a LOT of people quit. Well it was stated again and again arena would not come back.
Thus I guess it wont happen, but there could be some updates towards such a direction at least.

E.g. the "dummy pilot" could stop being a dummy pilot and stop being totally useless but get some more driving skills so it can actually be used.
The driving totally discourages me from playing because my hands and eyes hurt after a couple minutes...

I doubt muting will be returned the way it was, BUT one could change it e.g. not to get a magical essence from an arcane, its hard enough to get them.
There are like 3 or 4 people who really boosted the skill high enough to mute lvl 55 items one day. we have 2 of them in the guild right now.
But they struggle as well because they cant get material any more the way things are now...

And also, it could be possible to trade wellable items... it was suggested and denied a lot of times... but why?
It would provide material for skillers, the possibility of good items for users with welling chars and also
this would allow a new market again for beginners to make some fg and get started to the game...

And especially, we need a lot more challenges + rewards for playing this game.
Objectives turned useless because everyone just does black runs and there is no need to do objectives.
No one is doing mirror maze because its a waste of time as well...

And GPs lost their special role over the years because it got way too easy to earn one.

Oh well, there are lots of chances to make the game better, it just needs the community and the creator work together and get things on the way.

I wish things would go back to the way there were, but I never see it happening. I loved the competitive feature of the game when we had contests, now we don't. There isn't enough player base to do so. The whole idea of changing the game play was to make it a "multi-player" game, but you need numbers to make those types of games survive. We don't have numbers plain and simple. I miss the MCC in the arena to test your gear and if you could make it a through a full level without regening. You could test different builds to see which one worked in giving you the best chain- The hyrbid was born, now it is useless. I use to love playing this game on my spare time and now I have to be forced to play it. I would love to see like a throwback week where things would go back to a certain version and see if the activity would pick up. This would tell us A LOT about the game and the players.

There are a 3 things LS needs for starters to get the ball rolling, IMHO. After that, then possibilities open up and the game can take many directions to reach the outstanding potential it does have.

1.) Make the great gear worth something again. Give it the advantage it deserves.
-This is why Arena was so popular and also so successful, because the pursuit to better ones own gear created a difference in climb efficiency and speed.
-Brings back a stable economy. Fg starts flowing again because having better gear means something.
-Brings the desire to well back. And makes creating a great weller worth it. Welling was always so fun to me.
-Brings competition to the game.

2.) The game developer needs to market/advertise the game.
-Not even on the main page of D2JSP is ladder slasher featured. A site with 10's of thousands of "Gamers" logging in everyday. Why is Ladder Slasher not more visible to the masses? Why is the game developer not marketing the game to pursue growth?
-Marketing and advertising the game obviously will get more people to at least "Try" ladder slasher, and we ALL started this game by "Trying" it.

3.) Fg needs to find a way to be integrated into this game.
-Let me ask everyone, how many RPG's have you played in your lifetime that the in-game currency is NOT AVAILABLE in-game? I mean seriously.... LS is the only game where the primary currency "Forum Gold" is not found within the game itself. MAJOR FLAW.
-People always complain about "Farming" but how can you farm Fg from drops or treasure chests if they are random? That is like farming MQ's. I can think of plenty of fail safes to keep farming from happening.
-At the very least, experimental integration should be tested with say Fg being available in Treasure Chests.
-I know this guild houses the biggest opposer to this idea (Hi Rick!), but I can make many cases why the Pro's severely out weigh the cons and would love to discuss it in a serious nature.
-And without even saying, it should be obvious, this feature would bring great activity... AND ATTENTION... to this game.


Those are the BIG 3 in my mind. Fix these issues, and the walls get torn down, the sun comes out, and possibilities begin to present themselves for this game to reach the true potential it has.

I can think of one very good reason why this should not be incorporated - massive whining and crying about players sitting and waiting for the fg to drop, and hogging it.

Lines 1 and 2, I disagree with and can argue it. But this is not the place to open a full blown discussion on it.

Line 3, I agree with and you got me there. Touche.

E: Just saying, the success and growth of LS is right there... it just needs to be realized. That's why I keep throwing around the word "Potential". It's right there.....

Its great to see a discussion going on and the thread not beeing closed yet!

I wish we could have this on the ls subforum again, without such suggestion topics beeing closed or spammed directly.
Just warn the spammers and trolls, delete their posts and let us have some discussion again like we used to
among those players who are still left and still care for this game...

I think most of the best ideas for the game developed out of such threads originally.
With players discussing along with Paul and then find a way together how to implement it.
With such a small community it needs such communication, its just the end of the game if the majority gets ignored.
We had this too often in the past and each time it cost a lot of player base, which resulted in the situation we have now.
Ultimately we arrive at such a point we have now, the game is almost dead and people lost their interest.

Im absolutely sure that a lot of players would instantly return if there were changes made that really improve the game again overall.
What we need right now aren't more mobs with special features. People dont really care, they need something changed fundamental to the gameplay.
Of course this needs to be worked out in more details, but if people really are honest... most people started this game because they could make fg.
And the nice thing... in the end they stayed and spend most of their fg here again for items, vault, guilds and such.

Right now, if a beginner starts ls and has no external source of making fg or a good amount on his account already,
he will certainly loose his interest for ls very quick. One cant make fg, one needs fg for things like vault, one cant find groups
and most groups would kick the beginner as he has no gear. So the beginner quits again...
This vicious circle needs to be broken.

I really like a lot of these suggestions and ideas as well, its so true that this game has so much more potential. There are so many ideas...
It once had more even but this got lost due to the ideas of the developer and the ideas of the community going in two different directions.
Not going into detail about it yet, but the simple fact remains that these ideas come from long term players of the game and not a beginner
which makes them worth it to think about more closely and consider for the future, as these people know what they say from long term experience.

I think especialy those players who have been here since the early season should be listened to again to bring a change...
