I know that LS is a game that required me constantly to update my goals,
- these changes were based on myself,
- how I perceived the game,
- how the game evolved.
When I first started here back in season 5, I needed something to kill time when Diabo II was getting boring or I was just sitting behind my computer while my bot ran. This game seemed fun and challenging.
1-71 took me exactly one month, and 2 rerolls after getting stuck somewhere in the 50's twice. I wanted to do this faster my second climb took a week (with some weapon upgrades etc, I found my first nice item 17x ee club + LS sold vs 1.5k (which was a lot at that time espc. when playing DII)
Went to university in Germany and didn't have time or desire to play.
Got back into it in season 9 right after the guardian was introduced. My goal had always been the same from there, climb and climb faster next climb.
And my aim was ~upgrading at least one item per climb. After a couple I had some contact with wigwam / danomak / some others as well and instead of meaningless clicking I decided on building a character that worked and was different than most basically I didn't want to do what Paparick is still doing meaningless clicking without a sense of how the game engine / possibilities -> my hybrid ninja which mq'ed a lot of randoms and was perfectly balanced for this in catacombs.
link to my attemptI started HC after I was confronted with the fact that this game is mostly +1's and Ryan pushed me into playing HC as +2's beat +1's. I was playing with Benny in Big Time Gods one of the original HC starters in my mind at least and he told me I couldn't I was to risque and didn't have the mindset to play HC. I took this as my first challenge / goal on HC. Get the illusive 100 MQ's on one character which nobody was able to achieve because of rips, timeouts and lag.
I was the first one to do this, so I aimed for 200 on one char also was the first for that. After some random drama with crazy old DC and mainly Datis and their specific game ethics and playsstyle I wanted to destroy Datis and pass him in GPS took a while did that, most GP's on HC wasn't as easy as I wanted it to be but still. Somewhere in between there profs got released and after ripping to a server spike where our complete group -1 died, I didn't want to put my trust in something that was outside of my hands so I went into the arena with one goal never to die and being able to survive any disconnect or type of monster this is where my little hybrid experience came into play and I didn't rip. Well my objectives kinda went dry after that but
I aimed for most profs in the game: #1 on HC, was #1 total as well but there are a lot of farmers out there

I aimed for most gps on hc: #1
Most gps total: #2
Most mq's #3 or #4
I own some of the best items available on hardcore
and Like me or loath me, I am still enjoying this game and will update my goals as I progress even though I don't have many much more to achieve as little is there but currently I am clicking for that illusive reset, and mainly upgrading stuff for me and my friends.
So as some advice from someone that has done 628 mq's for 1456gp's atm, start small aim for the stars. This game requires a large time investment, but it is worth it in the long run the social aspect on jsp with this community is what makes it worth it besides the meaningless clicking but don't expect to be there in a month or some...
Don't let others talk you down, the most important part is that you play your game, in a way you feel comfortable with and enjoy.
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to play the game!
