A natural disaster can occur at any instant. Many disasters give indications such as hurricanes or volcanic eruptions. Others give no warnings like earthquakes. But they all have one thing in common, once it happens the time to prepare is gone and all you can do is endure. This is why it is important to prepare for a natural disaster.
BANG! A flash of lightning strikes the main electric line and leaves the whole city powerless. The house is full of perishable foods and a few snacks in the cabinets for the kids. The only drinks in the house are milk and juice, water was always used from the dispenser on the refrigerator. The latest news is the power could be out for several weeks. And to top it all off, the gas in the car is virtually empty and without power the gas pumps won’t work. Also, many stores have a hard time opening since items do not have prices on them anymore. What does one do in this circumstance? They could borrow food from a friend, neighbor, or family member. Perhaps offer to pay to use the neighbor’s car if they are even in good terms with them. But the true answer is they should have been prepared for any out of the blue disaster. Every household should have bottled water, non-perishable items, first-aid kits, toiletries, and flashlights stored at all times. Without this preparation, it makes it extremely difficult to overcome even the most minimal of natural disasters.
Instances such as power outages are minor. However, powerful entities like earthquakes, tornadoes, or the almighty hurricane can cause damage, injury, and in worse cases death. Upon any storm can arise blinding rain, vigorous lightning, and lethal wind.
The crushing forces become so strong that the entire house begins to shake violently. The plates began to chatter, the shelves above the window where the family is huddled together begins to shake. The hazardous items on the shelves begin to fall one by one and the window shatters causing injury to the family. What should have happened is everything that could have been dangerous should have been secured in sealed cabinets. The family should have evaluated where are the best places inside the house to stay during a storm, usually under major beams that are secured to the rest of the structure, or in strong doorways, or inner structural walls.
