It actually really helps. The shitty intelligence on barbarians makes it so that you get destroyed by caster mobs at higher levels. And then you can also get a heal charm to use occasionally as well I've heard that it's a really good build.

Stuff in the catacombs does appear the same for you as it does for other players. It doesn't show when you pick up an item and it doesn't show when you joined a game because it's pretty obvious to you that you did either of those
