Ladder slasher isn't like D2 in that "life is all."

Think along the lines of D2 in .09 - damage is king.

If you are using clubs, aim for at least 100dex by level 55, preferably 120 (although that could be hard without much investment) then chuck the rest of your points into str.

No point in putting any in vit on softcore in my opinion, you'll have a ton of life anyway.

Thanks for the guide- I will definitely take a look at that.

Ohhh you for sure need better gear (imo).  My axe up to lvl 15 does 29-35 damage and up to lvl 10 armor defends 10-31.  Also, just looking at your stats where they are, I would put everything else into either dex or strength - pick one or the other.  I personally think dexterity is WAY better/more important and I put everything into that.  I had a fighter, but I would think that the barbarian would be the same thing, because it's a melee character.

If you're going the club route, Garrett might be able to help you - I only know about axes and a tad bit about daggers, sorry.  =(

Also, I'm sure somebody else will have more detailed/better advice, but that's my contribution.

I'm definitely on planning on buying better gear for him- I just have to get around to playing LS instead of D2.

I'm only sticking with clubs cause I started with it, lol. But if you recommend axes I'll buy a good one and start getting my proficiency up for that.

As for the stat placement, my mindset at the time was very much like building a barb in D2 (minimal base str//dex as possible), but I guess this is the wrong approach for LS.

I started to drop all my points into vita, but I'll change it around now. Thanks guys!

You're nto that higher level, i would simply reroll the character and start again. you'll regret having pure vit later lols.

if youre staying with clubs, Chuck all your points into dex until you have about 75. I've got a 28 dex charm i think that i'll sell to you for 1fg when you reach the level you can use it. That'll get you to 100dex, then you can stat the hell out of str to beef up your damage.

for the early levels, buy a BRONZE weapon with 30+ee, a plate with life per kill, and a charm with life per kill. each should only cost you ~1-2fg. try to upgrade the weapon every 5 levels, although they will get gradually more and more expensive.

Try to stick with the same weapon type for your whole climb. Axes are extremely consistent, clubs are reasonably consistant but have a decent range, swords have a very high range. The higher the range the more crit reliant your character will be. with axes, you always kwno what you are going to hit, with maybe the occasional crit as a bonus. with swords, you could hti the high end of your damage several times and steamroll the monster, or you could get 5 successive 0's and get destroyed.

Another catacomb vent (no need to read it, it just makes me feel better to get it out while regening - lol).

I've played with this guy throughout the day because he's in my level range and he thinks just because he's in the driver's seat he's f-ing God. In fact, he doesn't even have to be the leader. He's an all around jackass. He will tell you what you can and cannot do, where to go, how to do it and all kinds of bs. And he's a samurai who sits in the middle, even when everyone else in the group (except me, of course) has to sit in the back because they only have light armor. But if his friend is in the game and a fighter, they can be in the middle, despite the fact that it isn't fair.

Someone apparently wasn't killing monsters in the order he liked so he FLIPPED OUT on everyone and (in all caps, of course) and yelled at us all like we were f-ing two year olds, saying he doesn't speak stupid and blah blah. Then he told the healer to stop healing everyone until he said it was okay again while he sits all snug in the middle and leaves two of us out in front - of course he doesn't care, he isn't the one hurting over it. I called him out on that and he got SUPER rude and just a huge jerk, acting like I was a gd idiot - I wasn't even the one hitting out of order, someone was probably doing it to piss him off. Just because you have the little "engage" button and you get to hit the arrow keys through the maze, does not make you God or my master.

So then I think, gee, he must be a 12 year old baby on a power trip - no, the f-er is like 10 years older than me. Geez, someone's got a super small penis if they gotta get their jollies outta controlling LS players.

I mean, there are a ton of idiots out there and I get mildly annoyed most of the time I play in the catas because someone is a loser (lol), but this d-bag just got to me. I mean, he was just acting like I was mentally retarded and couldn't possibly grasp his awesomeness or the wisdom of his LS skills. Honestly the biggest jerk I've come across in quite some time (I'm talkin' life in general here).
