When he was a human, he was like a mercanary, kill anyone do any job for the right price, he was betrayed by his boss and in his dying breath he vowed revenge no matter what the cost, so a demon took him up on his offer and made him a hell SPAWN. He had to do this demons bidding in turning the world to the demons not the angels, well spawn figures out he's being used as a pawn, decides fuck this, and turns on his demon master and because an anti-hero kinda like THE PUNISHER but so much cooler. lol.
