Pretty much what Jesse has stated:
This will not be an easy task... Casting gear is in High demand, since reset and AoE, thus the prices will be ridiculous.
Since you do not carry the fg to obtain some of the better gear, you have to look on MP alot for a bargain or 2

Id say: do some run/reroll to gain some prof level before starting a caster

That is the thing... getting the fg to fund a good mage...

Questions that I want to ask you:
1. What will you be casting?
2. List items that you have for mage
3. Are you willing to trade off items for 1fg to build up funds.

As TiMasse stated... run/re-roll is what you need to do.
You will find items to trade off for minimal fg and occasionally find items that you can use.

I re-rolled many time... let me put it this way... I did not go for my first MQ until i got rank10 in sword.

I will see what I have that could help you out... since I do not use alot of the items that I have on mules, and I am tired of running out of space.

Your gear looks great to me - all you need is charms past 40 and you will be good to go.

I encourage you to borrow gear from the guild rental thing :D this caster gear is just wasting away on my characters... :(
