Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup All

Sooo...A friend from school and I are what you might call virtuoso's on the piano

J/k ofc...
I don't like to brag (I really do though :D), but we're really good. And I mean REALLY good

So, a couple weeks ago, the music teacher at our school asked us to put together a duet that would be suitable for everyone. After much discussion, we agreed that Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd was a song that almost EVERYONE loved. So, with only 2-3 weeks until the concert, we set out to work. We practiced every few days, working on the piece. ALL of the piece was learned by EAR :D. We've both got an amazing ear for music, so we work really well together. A few days before the concert, we were deciding the final arrangement of the piece, determining how long each part should be and such. And the other day, we just started jamming. We both love improv (improvisation), so we were just rocking out. Much to our dismay, it sounded...well...EPIC...So we decided that on the night of the concert, we would go up there as unprepared as can be and start doing improv on Freebird. During the solo, we played back and forth, alternating between lead/rhythm, while both of us kept the bass line going.
So, you're asking yourself, how did it turn out?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9kFyrMspuwEPIC is all I can say...I know it's kind of a biased opinion, coming from myself, but everyone said it was epic

We went ahead with improv in the beginning, and the lead guitar/vocal lines/solo were done by ear. Mind you, this is NOT an exact arrangement...We made up a lot and didn't want to have it too long. We were told to keep it under 5 min :(...
Anyways, I'm the one you can see playing the piano there (I'm kinda facing you, the one who does improv during the first verse). I'm in Grade 10 and he's in Grade 11 of high school. He just recently completed Gr 10 of piano. I took lessons for approx 2.5 years, and stopped after completing Gr 8 of piano. We learn everything by ear now.

Oh, and I had to add...We're Canadian

What can you expect from the future?

Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas
Check it out, rate, comment, all that shiznit...Thanks for your time
