Lettuce have peace and love m8s
I think slushslush was trying to be helpful in the post about organizing runs. Matt, I can see why you took it as sarcasm but when I first saw it I thought he made a genuine suggestion and it still looks that way to me. His
next comments were snarky (two slashers etc.) but at that point he was reacting to what you said, which was insulting to him. It's no bueno that everyone started chirping . I don't see why anyone needs to put anyone down, no matter who it is. The LS community depends on how its members treat each other, and this is true of the d2jsp community and the greater global community. Conflict happens, but so do compassion and communication aimed at mutual understanding and mutual benefit.
I logged in after being put down by my wife (we're separated, for those who don't know). She didn't intend to insult me but she did, and so I clarified what I had done that had made her upset, and she came to a better understanding of my action. (She probably should have apologized but my point is that dealing with pain and conflict is inevitable at some point for all of us, and compassion and clear communication are always a good guide to human interaction). I could have let that conversation piss me off going into checking in on what's up in here, but I made a conscious decision to try to understand what I am seeing and to respond in a way that may help all of us see the benefit of an e-hug

Nobody expects a group hug, apologies and complete mutual understanding to happen here

But hey, if you feel insulted or that you insulted someone please take a moment to consider that we all suffer, that anyone can have a bad day, and sometimes these things leak into how we treat other people. Nobody here strikes me as a total *sshole and hopefully that is enough common ground for future interactions. It's pretty clear to me that Matt and slush heated things up, so I hope you two can pay it forward and be the people who cool down the next battle royale that comes up in your visual fields. And let's not kick anyone out of this topic just yet. The LS community could use more active and friendly spaces.
