I have 3 identical Paladins that I will be more than happy to run as a test for this high-level, ultra-sensitive, brain-deadening discourse:
1.
CrankyOldPhart2.
CrankyCritHitter3.
CrankenHeimerAll have 110 life, and 55 vit before adding the 14 stats that are part of normal play ( 2 passes, 11 fails on each)
I will place these 14 stat points in vit before I do the test - running each char from 1 to 10, and adding earned stat points as follows:
#1 - stat points added every level
#2 - stat points added every 5th level
#3 - stat points added at lvl 10.
I predict that there will be absolutely no difference in the life level no matter what method I use.
EDIT - I will be using identical gear for each char, which will be removed at the end, so that the life will not be item augmented
Please do......

james you are absolutely right with saying that you get more life from statting vita at lvl 5. since you get 6 life per point. in your case it is 15*6= 90 life for statting it. leading to 300 life total
BUT:
if you stat 15 vita at lvl 1 you will get only 2 life per vita meaning your 70 life will rise to 100 life. (at lvl 1)
when you lvl up now, you will get 50 life per lvl up --> 4 lvl ups until lvl 5 means you get 200life more --> 300 life total
version 1: (adding 15 vita at start --> 50 total vita)
lvl 1 - 100 life
lvl 2 - 150 life
lvl 3 - 200 life
lvl 4 - 250 life
lvl 5 - 300 life
version 2: (staying at 35 vita, adding 15 vita at lvl 5)
lvl 1 - 70 life
lvl 2 - 105 life
lvl 3 - 140 life
lvl 4 - 175 life
lvl 5 - 210 life
adding 15 vita *6life
--> 300 life
i hope it is clear now
Then how did I come up with more vita when I statted at different levels? I understand you're math. I just don't understand the differences....
E/I will try it the way I think you are trying to explain it later. I guess we could all be right different ways....
