Kinda tough to think of animes that are realistic but idk.....

Detective Conan(little boy solves mysterys)
Lupin III(one of the only animes I know of where the bad guy is the main character, a thief who elaborately steals from ppl)
Bartender(literally just a bartenders life)
Great Teacher Onizuka(ex-biker/gang leader fulfills his wish of being a school teacher)
Hajime no Ippo(boy trains to become a great boxer)
Kaiji(gambling)

oh and what im watching over again w/ dave right now
Black Lagoon(pirates? I guess you'd say)

Are some of the only ones I've seen that don't include some kind of super powers/robotic suits/etc.
