Second and to the point, i understand that wells generally belong to the person that throws the item in the well, however, if Gary said he didn't want to well, and stated outright that he would be picking up items on well, then it is upon the person/people that still decide to well on public time rather than their own private time to chance the drops. If Gary hadn't said anything, and it was assumed all drops were that of the weller, i'd personally send you enough fg to cover it or talk to Gary, but the fact of the matter is such: Gary openly said he'd be picking up drops from wells, wells were done with this information known to the group, a good item was dropped, and Gary got it.
There was no wrong doing, yes it sucks that you didn't get a good item, like everyone is, but it was a public item left to chance, and not yours in this scenario.
