I would like to make an example of why stat gear is superior to ee gear for newbies and players on tight budgets.

Using candiman as by example:

you'll see he is using a 79ee L20 plate, which is about equal to a 0ee level 40 plate. Now he's using this at Level 60 - at this level even non-ee wearers with plain 45/50/55 armours will be better tanks than he is, so really he shouldn't be in the front of a group anyway. He is practically wasting his armour slot, and to be an effective tank he'd probably have to go and spend 50fg+ on a new armour to use till MQ.

form what I can see that L20 plate of his is worth ~15fg. now, there is a level30 32dex scale on the market right now for 10fg. had he bought this, his damage would be increased significantly. he would have to go in the middle or back of a group, but he should be doing that anyway at his current level.


Can you guys see what i mean that in order for ee to be effective you need to have several armours through the climb - with stat armours you can pretty much use 1 item the whole way up. stats don't become less effective as monster level increases

I see what you mean, however it is entirely situational I believe.

Certain groups will need tanks, and others will need damagers. A stat wearer will need to be mid at best, if not back row depending on what type of armor and level it is. EE wearers can take on some tanking for quite a ways, 10-15 levels above is not unheard of.


I do agree with your math, but I don't agree that one is better than the other, it is 100% situational depending entirely on the group you have.


Solo is entirely different, I am only talking about groups.

but you see, in the situation that he's in at the moment, he's not a tank anyway - a white 55 armour would be more effective in that role

Yes I agree, the position he is in you are correct. I guess I am forming this on my perspective, because I have both options and learned which is better in what way etc.
