did you loose exp or proficiency?
if you didnt loose anything, it might be a bug. i had this several times in catacombs.
but this should not effect your life usually, its strange if it was zero suddenly when logging in again...

i think it may be due to slow connections i have the problem occasionally as my connection is eratic (i.e fine for a while then useless for 5 mins then fine again) during the slow 5 mins i've died a fe times.

i believe the bug of lowering your hp in a cata via items also shows up as killing yourself, so if you switch items that may be at fault also. this bug means u lose no exp/prof. he might have fixed when i wasn't looking, and i havent been looking
