The Annals

The battles of the week have been long, and bloody.

The mighty Empire is entrenched, showing little forward movement, yet fully confident in their ability to remain at the forefront of the Armies. With great catapults, ballistae firing enchanted spears the size of elephants, they defeat the hoards that come at them with ease, yet show little inclination to advance. They are content.

The great army of Desolation, known for the extreme Carnage that follows where they lead, crawls forward, determined to once and for all topple the mighty empire.

Those we Trust, quiet all this time, show signs of awakening, but as yet continue to fall behind those they set their sights on so long ago. Walking death, they sit.

The frozen depths that cause the Chill on the sweaty field of battle, the army that for so long held themselves at the top, just ahead.

The Russians, strong in their tyrannical Dominion, fallen behind. Even the mighty can fail. Maximus is great, but even the greatest soldier is but a man, unprepared for the execution-style tactics of a true ARMY.

The heroes of INTRASIEGE continue to push forward against the foe, a cohesive unit of slaughter and destruction.

Fear permeates the hoards of the Unicorn as the phalanx pushes forward. The time is approaching…

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM BOOM! BOOM BOOM!

The drums of war have shrieked out their challenge, and a week’s worth of preparation and timing has now come into play.

The morning stillness is shattered as the drums pound, and the hoard wails in fear.

Bloody Sunday is upon us, a day our enemies, our competing allies, nay, the entire world will fear coming about again…

InsaneBobb. Lowly Annalist, writer of sagas, caster of fire and ice, advances. Breaking away from the phalanx, he slowly pushes against the hoards. Freezing swathes of his opponents for the phalanx to shatter as they come up behind, he slowly approaches the pedestal. Though considered odd, as few Samurais care to learn the mystical arts, he has come, once again, to the point of decision. Clad in battered armor, aided in his arts by the burning charm, he throws fire to clear the last of the Unicorn’s guard from his gaze.

Turning piercing eyes toward his goal, he steps forward.

The Horned Demon, sanctified through the blood of armies, makes the first move, and attempts to stomp on our hero as he ascends the steps. Prepared, Bobb dodges. But as Bobb starts to cast a whirling maelstrom of fire into the teeth of the wretched beast, the whip-like tail of the unicorn swings around, shredding into Bobb’s body. The sharpened, enchanted shards of glowing pink diamond leave little but a bloody pulp of the once-proud hero.

Following behind, determined to avenge the fallen hero, Wizz steps forward. Like a whirlwind of edged death, Wizz proves why he is the greatest threat the hoard has ever faced. Armed to the teeth with artifacts from the depths of time, Wizz clears the reinforcements from the dais, and lunges in for the kill, to ascend to his rightful place as the Ninja.

The Unicorn, crafty in his malevolence, vanished when steel struck. An illusion! From the side, the unicorn horn pierces through Wizz’s robe, deep into Wizz’s heart. Weep, armies of Intrasiege. The great have fallen!

Kewbie. Determined once again to show the hoards, our allies, what it means to be a true soldier, even knowing the fate that may await, rushes forward. Letting lose with a berserkers cry of unending, uncompromising rage, completely without mercy, Kewbie lays into all the monsters around him.

The air all around begins to thicken with the splashing blood of Kewbie’s enemies as he continues forward. Turning from a slain opponent, ready to face his adversary, Kewbie’s eyes go blank, and his hands lose their grip on his weapon, on his charm.

For the Unicorn, remembering their last encounter, left nothing to chance. Expecting the charge, Horn and chest met, while mind and focus were directed elsewhere.

Skitty, seeing the state of his brethren, sneaks in from the side. Just as the fatal blow lands on Kewbie, skitty blasts the unicorn with a sheet of pure energy, lightning so great it blinds the entire battlefield.

When sight returns, the fallen are back in the protective clutches of the phalanx, and skitty has ascended. The Unicorn has been scarred, yet again. Rejoice!

As a team, Empy, Roomba, and Zombiez push forward.

Weapons slashing, spells casting, they leave a bloody haze in their wake.

Confident in their superior training, without fear in the knowledge this is what they were born for, they move together as one. Prepared to face the horn, the tail, the hooves, the knifelike hair of the beast of darkness, the clear a path.

Wounded, the unicorn looks up. Panicked, it screams.

The world goes silent in shock.

The scream of the unicorn is that of a billion tortured souls. The weakest of the monsters in it’s own army succumbs to the sound, dropping lifeless to the ground. The phalanx, always ready for defense, was prepared. The Unicorn cannot take any hits, not yet. But the three heroes can not deliver them. Frozen still, silent, unmoving and unthinking in their shock, they do not see the oncoming destruction.

The personal bodyguard of the Unicorn has recovered, and is moving in for the kill.

With one mighty effort, the Phalanx reaches the three heroes, draws them back into it’s protective grasp.

They fought well.

All of the heroes of Bloody Sunday fought well. There are only so many opponents that can be killed. Today was a day of victory, not retreat.

The Russians, forgotton.

The Chill, seeing our formations advance, and knowing despair.

The Trust, Empire, the greatness that is Desolate Carnage, all look at the progress of the mighty, and know that it is only a matter of time…

A New Challenge

We proved last week that we are capable of anything, should we just dedicate ourselves to a team effort. Every point counts, every attempt is worth a thousand words stating “Maybe later”. Now is the chance to prove what we are capable of yet again! Last week I said 30 minimum, I believe. We did it! Let’s do it again. Last week I said 65 goal, and we came damn close. That sounds like a realistic goal, yet once again.

We are the best, and it’s up to each of us to keep us that way. Bloody Sunday worked incredibly well. Not all of us can attempt throughout the course of the week, or even more than once a week. Therefore, Bloody Sunday is where to target your attempt, if you can only pop off one per week. Bloody Sunday participants will be tracked, and future prizes may be considered should we, as a team, continuously succeed in making Sunday the day the Pink Unicorn, as well as all our competing allies, fear.
