Actually, it was fun. The small mana pool was frustrating from 40-55 or so (mcc avg of 3-4), but definately a fun character to play. Just get some decent mana regen gear. There's very little worry of dieing when your mana runs out that quickly.

In terms of low level speed, he levelled faster from 1-40 than pally. I chalk it up to the dex difference (and the fact that my daggers were better than my axes ).

Incorrect.

First statement is correct. But you have to consider regen time. Sure a magician kills twice as much, but also requires twice as much time to regen. So it's actually equal.

I strongly suggest meleeing to 35 on anything thats not a magician/warlock/alchemist(lol).

My rule of thumb is typically I melee to 1.5k mana. Which on a fighter/sammy is usually around 36 or 37
