what do i have to do to get those AOE casts? is it a prof thing?

The chance to megacrit is increased by your proficiencies... I can't tell you exactly because I already had my earth proficiency at this level before that update, but people say that the amount of megacrits significantly increases when you get to rank 10 with whatever element you're using but yeah, basically higher prof = higher chance (also, having a full group increases the chances)


And on that note, I'm at level 5 and just itching to do a guild maze game who's down with this?

Nah you shouldn't reroll, your characters are too high right now.
Might as well just make a new character you're gonna have 16 eventually we all do

ya but i dont have gear to put on new chars haha, i can only make barbs right now up to lvl 40 but i struggle badly

I think that it's best to try to stick with a main character so that you build up proficiencies and kills and all that good stuff. And honestly with your level 30 gear you could probably make it to MQ if you had a good group to climb with.
But your level 35 barbarian is wearing all your level 0 gear, you could just create a new character then transfer that gear over and climb up to level 5 I have to go make a phone call in a minute which might take a bit anyways so you'd have time if you wanted to do that

thats my main right now, i dont know if i should just keep climbing 1-35 and the reroll to build up my prof or if i should just go for mq. there's never really any good groups to climb with in the catas unless there's some guildies on and are the same lvl to climb w/ me
