Marie, on your way home from work, make a quick stop somewhere that sells phone cords and buy you a new one.
Try and only get one long enough for what you need. Too long can cause signal loss.
I know you said earlier that the wires were frayed. Open wires and electronics do not mix.
If that doesnt work, you will have at least eliminated the possibility of a short at a minimal price.
You can go from there after that has been fixed.
I will try to put electric tape on the phone wires that are no used...
But it has never been a problem before, I didn't touch anything before, and my huge lag started yesterday afternoon....
The cord that goes from the computer to the connection box is not long and is not old either, but I have a newer one I can try tomorrow as well.
The phone wire that goes from that connection box goes straight to the grey box that belongs to the phone company....
I took away all intermediate...
If this doesn't work, I hook up the computer directly on the line outside the house, on the big post...
I am used to some lag, but you know I can keep up in cata and you,ve seen the videos I have made of my wells...
The lag is usual very minimal...
Now, it's just a gamble to do arena, and catas are just a shame to be in... (I look like a leecher in there...
)
