Yes, Barbarian is a solid choice to learn the game.  They have high HP and can do good average damage with little investment.

I would *try* to get your Dex ~ 70-90 and the rest to strength, but you can go ALL strength and still do just fine.  The Dex/Str route will help you hit criticals, as well as aid in defense versus critical attacks from mobs.  These figures are taken at level 55 WITH gear on, so if you have a DEX charm that will get your dex to 70, you can go all strength no problem.

Hmm, there arent many catacombs running ... And thats lame because it takes so long to kill mobs myself in the arena because my weapon sucks ;D

One thing I do is have multiple people you can climb with.  Have your barb ~20, then if no one is on, level a mule up to level 5 so he is ready for a maze game when our guild get's them going.

This way, if no one is on at your level on one character, you can switch over to the other and possibly find a game.  It beats grinding out solo levels sometimes. 

Plus, higher level mules can use higher level items that have Extra Equipment Slots, allowing them to hold more, and also it is super nice to get the Maze objective on mules.
