I just started caster too, like we discussed a few minutes ago...
I personally like it a lot more than melee, a lot more fun. And I dont even have 90% of my gear yet.

Personally i'd go with Rogue, a lot more life when comparing to a Magician in the 50+ level range.
I know it's a big difference in mana, but I'd rather just shrine a couple drops which is most likely to gaurantee be dropped to gain back my mana. Then click click again.

ya i guess idk ima see how it goes

yeah, 50 + with mage life gets rough
gotta have those 1 click heal charms so you dont waste as much mana trying to heal your life back up
cos some monsters will hit you 2-3 times and your life is down pretty quickly

havent tried out rouge myself, but im considering leveling a rogue this time for wells
