Decided to join a Cata today to try it out again.
Lastime I tried it out people were unorganized and snagged your drop on drop rotation if it was a decent item.
I disliked Catas on SC because people would snag before the monsters died. And they would just leech for xp.
I figured the group was a gg group, Mediator, Guild Leader, Me, and couple other people that are well known on HCLS.
(Not listing names)
So gave it a try
We did well for killing the mobs and moving up in lvls.
I believe they used vent since it was pretty quiet, and appreciated them inviting me to join their catas.
I did notice that as soon as all the mobs died the drops were snagged super fast haha.
I figured w/e you know I mainly wanted to get my lvl up.
Did this for a while, couple levels at least and then a lvl 10 Heal charm dropped, the mobs all died. And this was the only item I tried to grab the entire time.
I managed to grab it surprisingly. Lol was shocked.

Then I get "Machine did you grab that charm?" I am like um yea, was the only item I have grabbed this whole time lol.
The host congradulates me but the others were saying I should be GM and give it to a higher lvl then me.. Or to the host that he deserves it.
I told them I am GM in Catas, I don't snag drops and if something godly drops I would be happy to share the profits with everyone.
I was nice enough to donate it to the host. I could of really used the charm and it would of helped me out alot.
And based on most Cata's Rules:
Rules on HC cata's to my knowledge basically are you kill all monsters, then look at drops then grab what you need.
if something godly drops you may split the item with the other members or if u need the item then keep it.
If drop rotation is decided then the rules may be different but this was a FFA.
I explained to him how I felt about the whole thing through a PM, so I guess he felt bad and donated me some coin for the charm.
I appreciated it but still after the fact I noticed they still snagged items before the mobs died. Or grabbed them soon as they died before people could read them.
I figured playing with guild leaders/meds would make it more fun and that it would be more organized. Less hissy fits.
And was bummed since I would of loved to of used that charm, would be different if I was selling it but I wasn't going to.
I quit SC for that reason mainly, disliked the little crybaby kids when decent items dropped. I guess you have to be REALLY close friends with everyone
to be able to keep a item nowadays. I may work up to that now, but just wanted to share with you guys what happened today.
I know if we did in-guild Cata's it would be alot more fun and organized. Nobody would get left out
But for now on, I will no longer play Cata's and try and get drops. If I do join a cata group I will only help for XP.
Gonna stick to solo mfing or welling unless some real close friends or guildmates want to cata. I dont need or want the drama.
Just disappointed that there were so many muteables/decent items that dropped that got snagged and everyone was full.
hen I manage to get 1 item and turns out to be a nice item that I get lectured and have to give it up. Wheres the fun in that

yep one reason why i like to just play solo arena ( i'm guaranteed to get drops) also if server dies out i got 10 hit window in arena
i've played cats with just random 2 or 3 people and did drop rotations and it worked just fine, don't like to play with people who think they are better or deserve something more than someone else.
so if you want to just level fast and get no drops at all go cata with those people, basically they think everyone else should just be honored/privileged that they ask you to join their runs.
