Don't you have casting gear? Cast monk. That is what a lot of us do. It's very viable. If you're worried about not having enough shrines, camp out next to a well and just run black picking up whites in addition to shrinables. Then every once in a while well the whites for shrines. It usually results in more than one shrinable per well. I find that to be very efficient.
If you're cata'ing, with 4 other people, then it's even easier to cata cast monk. You're given shrines galore during cata runs.
You got to make due with what you have man. I don't know what little middle school fight you and Chris are having, but it's not difficult to get by in an easy game like this, especially when you're already equipped with decent casting gear.
