I am Truly Unhappy with my LS experience
if it had been like this when i started
i would never have started
u know why i quit wow?
because of the tap dance that i had to do with my fingers to move around and play
truly that was a top reason
u know why i quit d2?
resets were screwing with my gear
the first season i played
i bought reg heals
because i was having to , and able toarena more and more often
and str was the deciding factor for damage on any weapon i was ever going to get
when catas became friendly
i realised that wilds> and changed over
not just that, but hm was now the mod i needed
and int mana cubs and max mana ee plate were useless too in cata
i sold it all and bought robes and swords and str gears and moved on
just in time to finish my GG sets and sell it all as the market crashed trying to get on board the future of LS
and so, int is no longer the king stat
dex is
and melee is god because of the dex stat
now melees splatter cast
and casters single hit
everything we know about melee and casting is wrong
gg gear is no longer necessary
im going to explain everything i know about the melee ratio
and let the future decide if i was right
in the past
str was the king stat, because of the dmg given not dependent on another pool ( mana )
dex was a flim flam number, that had been changed and changed and changed again over the seasons
and the opinions of the masses ranged from guesses at weapon type, class, none-200
today the "perfect dex" is a solid number based on what u wanted for your crit and avgs
for example ill take sword and dagger
just for arguments sake
the ratio for a sword is 75/25 str/dex
this means that as damage is derived from the combination of the two stat
and crit dmg and frequency id derived from the variance in those two combined stats
also
in hard numbers
it means that 1 point of str is worth 3 points of dex
when determining that actual dmg shown on your weapon
this helps us with gear choices for the sole reason that now we can determine of we should buy a 33 str and 17 dex charm
or instead purchase a charm with 5, 6 or 7 more str instead
the charm stated above would be equivalent to [ 33 + (17 / 3) ] 38 Str
if there was a charm that had 39 str instead
for the same price
and now probably less
i would buy a 39 str straight charm
in terms of what those stated would do for my dmg shown on weapon
moving along to critical chance and any extra or added effect it could have
this is still determined by dexterity as it alwasy have been
but now to a measurable and investable way
as the dex on a sword or str on a dagger is used in the same way
this should hold true
as the lower stat approaches the higher stat and the difference decreases, and the ratio approaches the "ideal" 3:1 ratio
( 15 dex / 45 Str for example ), the chance of crit and dmg from crit should improve
note however that the lowest stat may not be the primary stat of the weapon
for example ninja with a sword
70 dex 40 str using a 75 str/25dex weapon
in terms of dmg bonus effect, the ninja is giving 63 str bonus and in this case
i would think that raising the dex to 120 instead of the str to 210
would give better crit % and multiplier faster and at a sooner level
even thought the dmg would suck ass
the crits would be going like mad !!!
the cryptological axe, , believe it or not
axes do not crit
they just have a large range of dmg
that damage can be arrived from either str or dex at equal proportions
although we agree that the top dmg shown has gone up from either stat
so has the lower end showing too
this differs from other ratios
where the lower stat has no effect whatsoever on top dmg shown in most cases
and in some the lower stat has raised the lower end dmg shown and left the top end dmg unchanged
weapon choices
as dex rules all
and axe and stt are forced upon us
unless we feel like buying two sets of gear
axe/dagger/staff and dex gear will be the obvious choices for our purchases
heals should be wild and armors should be padded robes or scales
so that all of the tanks we play will have use of our tank gear
and allow us to use the accumulated wild prof to heal our characters thought our climbs
its is becoming more important to stay alive than to do big dmg
with the new skills, less ee on the weapons and charms
and a bit more on the armors will be smart choices
the caster is dead
but hm gear will go up in value
as there is a greater incentive to stay in game
mana stacks have been increased as there is knowledge that casting is disadvantaged now
mana is hard to come by and dedicated healers will be needed again
they fixed the heal xp bug
the game has changed
and changed again
and then changed again
this is a natural part of gaming ofc
i wish i had known more when i started playing
