Yes I do this now as well, ever since I purchased that MQ charm, and can achieve 99% success on wells. I do the same, only do not well tier 1 and II items, and sometimes pass up crappy tier III items. I finally did well a somewhat useful item last night, 84ee Level 15 dagger, but I use staff/swords :)
Soon our luck is coming though, I can feeeeeeel it :))))
