in lower levels is necessary some life per kill gear too but if ur not going to keep climbing and its just for one climb to mf dont worry about it
its going to be a little difficult in the low levels cause u will have not much mana but as soon as u hit lvl 20, 25 + u will be fine cause u will add just in int so ur mana will grow fast
(u can add some in vita too if u want, some ppl do, some dont, its ur choice, i added some on mine when he was a lvl 5 mule cause u wasnt caring about that but i didnt regreat, he has good life now and well easily

so, thats it, foccus on ur high level gear mostly cause its all ur going to really need, during the climb just go with what u have/find
if u can, look for extra life/mana in items too, specially the high level ones (ofc if they come with decent int too ^^ , inteligence is ur priority, u know
)
and dont forget to find a good heal charm for u with good ee, this will be essencial to keep u alive all the time when welling (it doesnt matter too much if its a foccus, heal or wild heal, foccus are very good ofc but if the ee is high enough, a wild is going to do the job the same way, i use a foccus that i muted and i heal around 500 life normally and sometimes 1k life)
try to find charms (both, the heal and the one u are going to kill with) not too high level but high ee and ill tell u why, if u have a lower level charm but high ee u will save lots of mana cause high lvl chamrs would use up all ur mana and u could run out of it before the battle is ended, so keep this in mind james.

editing: ah! about the type of the charm: usually ppl go for ice charms cause of the more constant damage but i used a fire charm in the wells and it worked the same, so good as the ice charm, maybe for constant climbs ice and earth are the best ones but u are not keep climbing so dont worry about that too, u can go for the fire charm u have, np
just look for the best ee u can and u will be fine
