MY VOTE:
I would let you back in under a few conditions:
1. You leave and you never come back ---EVER!!
2. Nothing will be given to you for free. You want an item you pay for it like everyone else! If you want help and one of us is close to your level we (or at least I) will HAPPILY help you lvl or find items or whatever!
3. YOU MUST REMAIN ACTIVE --you don't post at least once a week or play ls to get guild points to benefit the guild...YOU GET KICKED OUT!! (unless you have a VERY GOOD REASON for not being on)
Very insightful Emery, glad to see alot of thought going into this matter. I have received PM's from Brandon and Emery, and seems I need to be the Tie breaker. Ok, one thing I failed to do, was mention that this need only be a simple matter, Im not really one to bring out the full closet of skeletons into the guild thread, but it did get a good response and thoughts moving on this particular subject.
Heres my thoughts on Connor rejoining:
1. For the scamming/hacking issues. We have a zero tolerance policy, as we should being focused on trust and respect to others. Heres the con, Connor did it in the past (admittingly). Heres the positive I see: He was honest, and if it was an issue he resolved it with the proper channels here at JSP. Paid back, etc, w/e. If he had not, hed be locked and tagged. I dont necessarily turn people away if they have a lock, because that doesnt always tie in to scamming. Sometimes the site auto-locks people for weird reasons. It happened to Mandy when she got some fg. If Connor was tagged though, sorry bye. Not the case. He learned from his mistakes and grew up a bit.
2. For the FG/Items donated. Key word, donated. I never made it a requirement he had to pay it back, although I DID feel like (WTF? I help you out and you leave??) but that is not something to get hung up over, I still would have done it. Connor made a choice to leave, and now is seeing the consequences after the Ducks issue. No drama needed on that. Heres the good thing, Connor started paying me back for the FG i donated not even a few days afterwards. GG on his part, I never expected back to be honest. Hes still been doing so, including today. Only owes 50 fg or so, in his opinion. Lets call it even. Items? Dont care, I'll find more. THe point is to help people who need it.
3. Bad reputation on our part. Remember that alot of things people do (supposed scamming) is heresay until proven otherwise. If we do not give the people the benefit of the doubt, then we might as well give up on keeping our ideals. Sometimes the best of friends can come from someone who has made many mistakes in the past and truly wants to make things right.
All in all, I would agree with Emery's options on letting Connor rejoin. Pay the entrance fee, and re-establish himself with us. If you decide to leave a second time, then your own your own. Just remember, that at ANY point scamming comes into the picture and is PROVEN, its auto-removal. I have done this already with 2 members in the past, I will continue to do so. So, thats that. This is alot more Dramatic than it needed to be, but at least it was kept in the guild threads and not the main forums. Thats it.
To everyone else, hows things going? I see alot of successful welling/muting/finding, lets get started on seeing another Pally, HE, and Mandy making NINJA!! Good work on the list so far babe, I'll be home soon. To everyone else, gl in their slashings today
