Well. I guess after work im heading downstairs to hardwire and try again.
Apparently re-downloading didn't work.
Sucks for me.

Update: As if anyone really cares

Router is NOT the problem. I hardwired the laptop and everything remains the same.
Just uninstalled and reinstalled IE9 and that didn't seem to work either.

word is that virus is a nasty one. Been around for a few years, cant get rid of it, and it just keeps getting worse...... :zzz:

CAll your ISP and see if they'll do a ping test to yoru modem and see if you're losing packets from the ISP to your actual house.
