Jury duty is the civic duty of ever citizen. You should be proud that you can perform this great function. A few years ago I had jury duty, it was the best week ever!!! Of course I made a spectacle of it, especially during the jury picking process.

Is it the same in the States as it is here... NO COMPENSATION during Jury Duty, not even employment insurance coverage.
Here we can only get out of Jury Duty if you are the major bread winner of the house and can't function without the wages
