It sounds like you downloaded a virus to me, and it corrupted your drivers, or the installation went screwy and corrupted something.
You can try this:
Start

RUN

type "msconfig" hit enter
on the "STARTUP" tab, uncheck everything, hit APPLY, restart your PC.
