You and me... we're going places. First stop, on Ventrilo to discuss how big of a newb I am with this stuff.
Vouch?
Hi Dave,
I won't be overclocking the GFX. I'm happy with the factory overclock aready which specs my 6950 to a 6970. So I'm happy.
But the switch? I just have the flip it! :D I can't let it sit there un-flipped, it won't be happy :(
Think of it this way, if I flip the switch, my graphics card can realize its true potential and transform into a Super Saiyan. That is what I want! To help it along, give it the motivation to transform!
That is
NOT the point of the switch on your Video card.
That switch is to switch between bios' for people who DO wish to overclock their video card and unlock the 6970 shaders. Because in order to do so you have to save your current bios and update it for the 6970 shaders then FLASH your video card. If you flash it wrong, your video card is done. The switch provides a safe backup for your original bios incase something goes wrong. you can switch back to the regular bios. before, video cards were not made with bios switches and if you fucked up your flash, you fucked up your video card.
