edit : ok ive just tried testing this and im pretty sure im right and it kinda sucks. when using a melee item, i use daggers, your proficency wont go up untill your char reaches the prof lvl. for example, my dagger prof was at 9 and i didnt notice it going up until i hit lvl 9. this is gonna suck for having high lvl prof and trying to lvl it higher. meh.
