I hear ya Jim. I've miraculously made it through the cuts that I thought I was going to be an obvious choice for. What saved me though is that in the past month, 5x Engineers have left the company for positions elsewhere (2x on my regional team and 1x being my ONLY counterpart in CVG). So yeah, my workload just dramatically increased. Looks like the company had ppl updating their resumes and jumping ship. Heh, my company managed to shave numbers in my dept without having to pay unemployment. Guess they figure $$$ is much more important than morale.
Long story short, I've got this market all alone and am really busting out the work now to keep things going. Oh yeah, I may get a substantial promotion out of this whole deal (interview next week). It's funny how everything works out. I thought I was going to get layed off and may end up getting a 20-30k per year raise. lol
