Yup, Ninja's are basically like Monks. Besides a few stat differences, the only other difference is that Ninjas can use swords where Monks can use staves.

So they both can use daggers and spears. I have some spears that I think are Atom and Amber's.

In other news, you know when you want a well and have a hard time finding one... Well today, I didn't need one and found FIVE!!!

Hahah I guess I use heavy so rarely I just thought they could longsword too
