Usually deaths occur because either someone is soloing when they should be in a team, or someone leaves the group without telling people or giving warning, or the group continues on and hits EP as the person returns. Communication is KEY.
Ladder Slashers need to change their mindset and way of playing, this game went from mostly a solo game to 90% multiplayer now. Old arena is gone, and it won't be back, we all miss it but let's face it this did not surprise me, paul had been saying for a long time he wanted to make this game more multi-player oriented, and whamo he did.
Only real issue is rex and his location/timezone, he has it worst of all (mike included) because finding a good group let alone any group is going to be hard.

The difficulty of this game has changed fundamentally, be it solo or multiplayer.
I think it's a lot wiser now to pump all of your starting points into VIT now, if not more.
Sure, you lose out on a few points of damage (and mana if you're a caster), but it's better to stay alive and save your proficiencies.
What's a few more extra damage when you get 1-2 second shotted with 3 EPs now
I pumped my 12 starting points into VIT for my mage and I still feel nervous as I'm sometimes barely able to escape alive.
Must click the door at the speed of ninja

Oh yea, EE armor makes a HUGEEEE difference!
