whats the purpose of dex
and whats relation between str and dex such as ratios

an lmk how my stats on my char look as of now, dont worry about my gear im buying more as soon as i get fg

The ratios listed on the weapons page are supposedly the ideal ones to reach for each weapon.
For example Swords is 75str/25dex, so for every 1 pt of dex, you should have 3 pts of str.
According to the LS update (been only a couple of days now), the closer you are to the ratio, the more optimal your damage will be.
We never know the full formula completely, so a lot of people are still testing it out.

Just try to stick to a weapon class and pump up the stat you need the most


EDIT: ARGHH just died on 3 evil presence, apparently clicking the door 35 times is still not sufficient to overcome lag.

from what it looks like, you should pump the stat with the highest number and ignore the other one. ration make no difference.

in simplistic terms, for swords:
1 str = .75ee
1 dex = .25ee

so it could make sense to ignore dex completely and focus on str

I know that's what most people's testing as confirmed, although I hope it was not intended that way.
If it is true, however, then it was designed to be a slight nerf to swords and headhunters (axe only), and a boost for clubs and daggers.

The following information is based on pre 1.20 and also including this new update.

1. Dexterity = 50 maximum (based on critical defense that may still be hidden)
2. Sword = pure strength after your max 50 dex... 0.75% is your damage... go for gold
3. Your level at present using 27ee lvl25 sword... find a WHITE level 40 sword, as that will deal more damage
4. Forget about healing on your barb... no point even in solo cata... collect up as much shrines available
